Terms of Service for RuneCast
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of RuneCast (the “Service”), a Boggle-like word game activity on Discord, and constitute a binding legal agreement between you and the developers of RuneCast (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
Please read these Terms carefully before using our Service. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not access or use our Service.
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via Discord announcements or updates within the activity. Your continued use of our Service confirms your acceptance of the modified Terms.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
You must comply with Discord’s age requirements (generally 13+) and provide accurate details when participating. Participation is tied to your Discord account.
Do not sell, trade, gift, or purchase access or advantages. Account sharing for unfair advantage is prohibited.
Choose behaviors and communications that follow our policies and Discord’s guidelines. Usernames, avatars, and in-game actions may not be offensive, impersonate others, or infringe rights.
2. Acceptable Use
Use our Service responsibly for entertainment purposes only. Do not misuse the Service or disrupt others.
Cheating, hacking, scripting, or gaining unfair advantage through unauthorized techniques (e.g., automated word finders beyond game rules) is strictly prohibited.
Do not exploit bugs or flaws for advantage. Report them privately via Discord support channels so we may fix them.
Do not engage in illegal, dangerous, or fraudulent activities while using our Service. This includes harassment, spam, or promoting harmful content.
Do not post illegal or infringing content in game chats, word submissions, or related Discord interactions.
3. User Content Permissions
You retain rights to words, scores, or custom content you submit during gameplay. However, you grant us a broad license to use your user-generated content for game operations, leaderboards, or improvements.
Do not share third-party copyrighted content unless you have express permission or rights to do so.
We respect copyright law and respond to properly filed notices. We reserve discretion to remove or disable allegedly infringing content.
4. Termination for Breach
We may terminate or suspend your access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms. Temporary or permanent bans may occur based on severity.
Severe cheating, harassment, illegal behavior, or egregious policy violations may result in immediate termination from the activity.
5. Disclaimers
Our Service is provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including uninterrupted availability or error-free gameplay.
We are not liable for any loss of scores, progress, virtual rewards, or other incidental, consequential, indirect, or special damages arising from use of our Service.
6. Limitation of Liability
Our maximum liability arising out of or relating to use of our Service is limited to $0, as this is a free activity.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute related to our Service must be handled in courts in California.
8. Arbitration
Any dispute must be resolved through individual binding arbitration. Arbitration precludes class actions or jury trials.
9. Miscellaneous
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and will not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision. Any waiver must be in writing.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, including our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us. These Terms supersede any prior agreements.
Force Majeure
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to, Discord outages, internet failures, or acts of God.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights granted hereunder. We reserve the right to assign our rights and obligations under these Terms.
Third Party Beneficiaries
Except as expressly provided herein, there shall be no third-party beneficiaries to the Terms.

Effective Date
